2. Already have an account and want to delete or close your account?

Step 1: Email hello@snapnsave.co.za

Please include the following in your email:

  • Subject Line: “Account Deletion Request”
  • Body Text: In the email, only include your registered cellphone number (no additional text). Example: 071 234 5678. Do not include any details other than your registered cellphone number.

Step 2: Confirm account deletion

Within 24-48 hours, you will receive a confirmation email from SnapnSave support. Open the email and confirm that you wish to proceed with the deletion of your account.

Step 3: Confirmation of Account Deletion (Optional, for Peace of Mind)
Log out of the SnapnSave app. After 72 hours, try to log back in using your credentials. If the app reports an “account not found” error, your deletion was successful.

Step 4: Additional security measures after deletion

  • Remove SnapnSave App: Uninstall the app from your smartphone to prevent residual data collection.
  • Change Associated Passwords: If you used the same password elsewhere, change it immediately using a strong, unique password (or a passphrase).

Why These Steps Are Necessary

  • GDPR & POPIA Compliance: South Africa adheres to data protection laws, requiring explicit consent for account deletion.
  • Preventing Data Breaches: Deleting accounts reduces exposure to hacking, phishing, and identity theft.
  • Avoiding Unwanted Communications: Prevents spam emails, SMSes, or push notifications from SnapnSave.
